Transitioning Seasons
It is the end of the fall season. A transitioning time to prepare us for the cold dark winter. This morning I sipped my coffee and began to think of the things I need to do. It is as if nature itself was giving instruction to prepare me for a new season. The leaves have turned into beautiful colors and are beginning to fall from the trees, littering my lawn. It was time for me to dress warm and do some cleaning. I worked in the garden pruning away the dead stalks of long gone flowers. Next step was to rake some of the leaves on to dormant plants as if tucking them in for a long winter sleep. The wood was stacked in the shed, and some brought in to the house for the wood stove. But the most important thing is the changes I needed to make to myself.
Sad to say, and yes it happens to us all, I am getting older and the young spring of my life that was so active and colorful has now changed. I need to grow from what is passed and refresh myself during the restful time of winter. It is a time to look to the Lord and receive His nurturing of both body and soul. For the body, diet and a workout schedule, and for the soul, time to worship and study in the Word. Just like the dormant plants it is time for root growth and renewing.
βFor everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:β Ecc. 3:1
What new work is the Father going to do in you?
