God’s Word to You

 “ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” John 1:1

This verse is referring to Jesus who is the Son of God and created all things. It is interesting that He is described as the word for He was the Word spoken in the beginning that created all things. But He is also the very word that speaks life into your own spirit. 

This is done by the Word speaking to men to develop what we call the Bible today. 

     The Bible is very precise in its structure in order to reveal a specific plan, a blueprint if you will, that the Lord includes us in. It is also a timeline that allows us to take part in and apply the incidences that occur to our own lives. Therefore, we are able to grow spiritually. 

     When you open the Bible it begins with what is in the past, the Old Testament, (also known as the Old Covenant). It is made up of five parts, The Law, History, Poetry, Major Prophets, and Minor Prophets. This was what Jesus quoted from and what the people lived by during the apostles lifetime.  But, it also contains messages for us today and our future.

     Next we come to the New Testament,(also known as the New Covenant). It is also made up of five parts, Gospels, Church History, Paul’s Epistles, General Epistles, and Prophecy. 

     So in the Old Testament is the Christ concealed and in the New Testament is the Christ revealed. In other words Jesus is on the first page to the last and it is all about salvation from our sins so that we can have a relationship with God. When we have that relationship with God he then reveals his plan in our lives in this world and for our future lives with Him.  Until next time, blessings to you.
