Tribulation comes. How do you react?
I hate to jog! So, I am using it as an example of tribulation in life. Jogging is considered by many as a good exercise, but it is not necessarily easy, or fun and it is often used to improve your health as well as to stretch one's endurance. It physically makes one out of breath, sore, and sweaty. But, with all that discomfort you push on to your goal and when the trial is done there is total relief.
Now this is a chosen trial to experience. But if a trial is put upon us by the Lord do you ever feel that you must trust in Him and endure it until the end? What stretching must be done for us to grow spiritually? How many times do we need a trial before we grow? Do we get angry with the situation and try to take control so that the trial will end?
The apostle Paul had many trials in his life, but his life didn’t start that way. The Lord chose him for a great work that wound up to be a great deal of spiritual stretching. Out of his suffering life he touched many lives across time with the truth of salvation through Jesus’ death and resurrection.
“ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearance.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Are you keeping the faith in your walk with Jesus?
